Josh Bates is a retired military veteran who has been shaking up the comedy scene with his sharp wit and unfiltered storytelling. Known for his blend of raw honesty, dark humor, and clever observations about everyday absurdities, Josh’s style is as fearless as it is relatable; equal parts punchy and heartfelt, with a knack for finding the ridiculous in everyone’s life.

His 2023 album, Pancake Carpet, debuted as the #1 comedy album on Apple and Billboard, solidifying his reputation as one of the South’s standout comedic voices. A fixture in multiple comedy festivals and nominated for Best Comic in Charleston SC six years running, Josh has performed alongside heavy hitters like Sean Patton, Doug Stanhope, and Sam Tallent.

When he’s not on stage, he co-hosts the Sundays at 8 Podcast, and is one of the owners of the countries newest (and bestest) comedy clubs, Wit’s End Comedy Club and Lounge. He’s also an unapologetic fan of cheese.
