Josh Bates: A Project Greenroom Benefit Show

Josh Bates is a retired military veteran who has been shaking up the comedy scene with his sharp wit and unfiltered storytelling. Known for blending raw honesty with dark humor and razor-sharp observations about everyday absurdities, Josh’s comedy is fearless yet deeply relatable, equal parts punchy and heartfelt, with a knack for finding the ridiculous in all of us.

His 2023 album Pancake Carpet debuted as the #1 comedy album on Apple and Billboard, cementing his reputation as one of the South’s standout comedic voices. A seven time nominee for Best Comic in Charleston, SC, Josh has shared the stage with heavy hitters like Sean Patton, Doug Stanhope, and Sam Tallent, holding his own with a voice that’s uniquely his. He’s performed at numerous comedy festivals, like the West End Comedy Festival and has headlined comedy clubs across the country.

Offstage, Josh hosts the award winning Lowcountry Lowlifes Podcast (well, sometimes) and owns one of the country’s newest comedy venues, Wit’s End Comedy Club and Lounge. He’s a champion of live comedy, a builder of community, and (perhaps most controversially) has never understood what the deal is with the Dave Matthew’s Band.
